When this picture was taken, his hair was falling out (for the second time), and he was fully aware of his prognosis. This picture sums up all of those qualities. He was, just like his school basketball team and the origin of his name, a Warrior. Oscar’s resilience, courage, optimism, grace, and determination were nothing short of remarkable. Through all the many scans, surgeries, biopsies, tests, needle pokes for bloodwork, IV chemotherapy, injections, PICC lines and butterflies, trips to Halifax for chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and literally thousands of pills, he never complained. Predeceased by his grandparents Gerald Hill and Leslie and Audrey Waugh. Fondly remembered by his grandmother Carol Hill, aunts and uncles Teena (Andy), Gerald Paul (Shirlee Anne), George (Kassandra) and Amanda Hill (Paul), David (Kathryn) Waugh, Carol (Paul) Sproat, Clive (Cindy) Waugh, Debra (Tracy) Hoffos, Doreen (Al) Sawyer, and Lana (Andy) Nero, 25 cousins, and numerous great aunts and uncles. Adored son of Trevor and Catherine (Hill) Waugh and loving brother of Grace and Harry. He was able to be in his own room and surrounded with love by our family. Oscar’s journey with cancer began 18 months ago and ended at home on Saturday evening, July 29, 2023. ![]()
